Individually tailored to meet the unique needs of each person
Several evidence based treatment modalities are utilized, including:
Early adulthood is a time of significant growth and emotional development. Going to college poses many exciting opportunities, as well as challenges that at times can become difficult to manage and navigate on one‘s own. This can be especially true if a person is far from their home and family. There is so much to learn at these times, and I look forward to being a guide through the process.
During these turbulent and unprecedented times, Jewish Students are now faced with unique challenges. It is hard to know how to best respond, and there can be many questions that arise. I aim to help Jewish students make sense of all that is happening, which could include (but may not be limited to): processing personal experiences related to being Jewish on campus, assessing the impact of such experiences, exploring feelings about Israel and the current conflict, discussions about Jewish identity, and/or developing strategies to address concerns. I aim to be your ally through this process, and as an active member of the Madison Jewish Community I am also available to be a resource for local Jewish life and connection.
There are times when we know our path, and other times when life occurs differently from what we may have expected. Many questions and worries arise from not knowing what's ahead, which direction to go. These times in our lives may be quite challenging, and at the same time they can hopefully become rich moments of life learning. It is especially helpful during these times to have objective and broad perspective. I aim to help you gain that perspective and to be there to guide you through this time of change.
Men are socialized in ways that can inhibit social connectedness, which can interfere with maintaining bonded relationships. Men can also struggle with understanding and expressing their emotions. There is an epidemic of men suffering in silence pretending that everything is okay - because that is what they are taught and they might not know another way. I aim to help men develop new ways of relating with themselves and others, learn how to connect with their emotions, and live with more authenticity and intention.
It's a time that you have worked towards and anticipated for many years. People often focus on financial planning for this stage. I offer structured planning services that help address social and emotional needs for living in retirement. We will assess your values and priorities, learn and practice strategies for overcoming barriers, and create a plan that enables you to live you best life going forward.
Changes in functioning can drastically impact life quality and emotional health. Having a safe place to process and deal with what is happening offers an opportunity to feel relief from distressing thoughts, and a chance for greater acceptance and feelings of personal integrity. Further, coming up with strategies and plans for optimizing life quality provides for greater sense of self determination and overall well being.
I am proud to work specifically with people living with cognitive changes (such as with Alzheimer‘s Disease and other forms of dementia). I aim to listen and gain understanding of the person living with cognitive changes from their perspective, so that we can figure out together how to best respond to the present challenges.
Caregiving is one of the hardest jobs a person can do. One can easily lose themselves in the process, by providing everything for their loved one and gradually forgetting their own needs along the way. It is hard to know how to improve the situation. You may have questions about caregiving strategies, or you may need advice from a third party about how to proceed. I have specialization working with people with Alzheimer’s (and related diseases) and their caregivers. My aim is to guide you forward when you feel exhausted and/or when the road ahead is uncertain.
When losing a loved one it is hard to know what to do, how to respond, what is "normal", and how to find the path going forward. I offer a safe and confidential space to explore and understand the grief experience, and to learn how to best adapt for your own health and future. Together we will work on guiding you through the process.
