What is the Student Support Package?
Dedicated, proactive, and comprehensive therapeutic support for students as they navigate their social and emotional journeys - utilizing a flexible approach that allows for an individualized process.
Why it is Needed?
Early adulthood is an exciting time of growth, inspiration, and identity development. However, at times, this stage can also feel quite confusing and overwhelming. All too often students suffer alone, in silence. Parents may be concerned, and need guidance regarding how to best respond. The Student Support Package is designed to help students thrive, realizing their personal potential, guiding them to live their best lives now and into the future.
You have worked hard to get where you are, and as you navigate this next chapter it is normal to feel overwhelmed. There are many competing responsibilities and pressures to balance. You are not alone. I am here to help guide you through your journey. We will design a personalized pathway, based on your needs and goals, to explore your experience and address the areas you would like to improve. This is an opportunity to be seen and heard, and not have to do it all alone.
When children leave home for college, it can be quite overwhelming. You want them to thrive, adjust well, and have positive growth experiences. When they struggle it can be hard to know how to respond, especially if you live far way. I am here to be a local support to your children, to help them navigate through their challenges. I offer parents peace of mind and comfort, knowing that someone nearby is dedicated to helping them become their best selves and guide them forward. Parents/Guardians are invited to participate in the initial consultation, and subsequent consultations are available during the semester (with consent and in consultation with the Student) .
This is your time to debrief about your experiences and strategize ways of moving forward. This is also your time to learn about yourself and design how you want to live your best future.
We will have dedicated meeting time(s) available - per your schedule. No need to wait months to be seen or worry about your therapist being too busy to fit you in.
Trust in confidentiality is a bedrock of good therapy, and I feel strongly about making sure you feel safe to talk freely, with trust that what you say in session is kept private. This is my commitment to you. The only exception to this are times when there is an immediate risk of harm to self or others.
You are actively encouraged to be in touch via text or call if feeling stuck, needing advice, or dealing with difficult situations that require immediate assistance. Updates about progress with goals and reflections about items discussed in therapy sessions are also encouraged :).
Let's hope and plan for nothing out of the ordinary happening that would require an urgent response. That being said, of course we know that accidents and tough moments do happen, despite our best intentions. For these types of moments it is important to have someone available to help immediately.
Urgent Assistance may include:
- Bringing meals when ill
- Working through panic attacks
- Visiting emergency rooms or hospitals
- Assisting with crisis situations
- Facilitating safety response if there are
threats to self or others
Disclaimer: I aim to respond immediately for urgent needs, including after business hours. That being said, if a client calls late at night and I am sleeping and do not answer my phone, it is the expectation that the client will call 911 if there is an emergency situation or such a need.

The image of college life just being amazing and fun does not capture the realities of a rather complex expereince and stage of life development. As you know, many different types of challenges can arise; from navigating relationships, to managing the pressures of choosing a career path, to figuring out aspects of one's identity, etc. With this coaching package we will start by taking a pragmatic view of specific areas you want for growth. Then, with you in the drivers seat, we will develop a structured clear plan to make the changes you seek, and along the way monitor together your progress. Check in texts or calls between coaching sessions is available and encouraged.
Note, this model is not meant to be a replacement for psychotherapy, but meant instead as a targeted intervention to help one figure out a path forward for specific growth areas.
